About me

I am married and have two grown children.

We are a Danish family who moved to

Älmhult Småland in December 1984.

The reason we moved was because of my

husband's work and the plan was to return

after 4 years but … We are still here!

We have four dogs of the breed Pumi.

My daughter breeds this beautiful race.

My husband and I are her "staff" as we say

with all that entails. In the evenings I work out at Friskis & Svettis, so I definitely do not have a problem filling my spare time?

I conducted my basic training as a nurse, in Denmark. Later I continued my studies in Sweden to become a district healthcare nurse in Sweden. Since 1988, I have worked within the paediatric field, initially part-time (50%). This gave me the chance to expand my training skills as in instructor in infant massage. In 1987, I became a CIMI (Certified Infant Massage Instructor), after having taken a course held by Mia Elmsäter. In 2007, I took it a step further and became an International trainer for IAIM after completing the training program lead by Ewa Westman

In the beginning, I taught private courses for parents in Älmhult for Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan. I quickly understood the value of this work, which made it natural to go ahead with a proposal to the county council in Kronoberg. The goal of the proposal was to make infant massage training available to all BHV (child health care) nurses.

I have been an active member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) since 2002, and since 2008, I have even been a member of the Board of Directors of FIS.

If you have worked with children's needs for a long time, some motivation to expand one's skills can be necessary - learning to be an instructor in infant massage is not only useful but inspiring, became certified in 1987 and by 2005, all the child health care nurses in Älmhult also had been trained as infant massage instructors. This has been a great success; parents frequently apply for these courses. We try, as best we can, to offer all new parents the opportunity to take a course in infant massage with us. Currently (2008), all the child health care nurses in Kronoberg County take this training.

In parallel with my courses at Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan, I completed training in massage for children in day-care and now hold courses for staff in schools and preschools..
